This past weekend Schroder Photography debuted it’s Photo Booth, a new addition to our offerings in 2013.

It was quite popular with the guests at Rebecca and Jay’s Wedding at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

I hadn’t seen this before!

This last image I just found up in my archives. It’s from a 2004 trip to Europe. This shot of the moon was taken from my hotel room and the most famous attraction in Paris gets blended in with other common rooftops.

That got me thinking about all the other 4 legged friends I’ve encountered at weddings over the years.

While some like Petey have an important “paws-on” job to do at the wedding, others dress up for the occasion, give their support to the Bride or Groom and then stay home to protect their territory from any pesky squirrels!

Oh and let’s not forget the Cats also. They usually just stay home and mind their own business thank you very much!  Even still, I usually manage to grab a few shots of them also.

So as a tribute to our pets, here is a small collection of photographs from my archives of the furry friends that I have encountered over the last few years.

Petey the Pitbull is the first in the series wearing the bow tie and appears again later laying by a door looking outside.

This last photo isn’t from a wedding, it’s my two dogs. Suki (4 year old) and Freckles (1 year old) playing in our yard. They would be upset if I didn’t include them in the selections!

On the 11th on November I photographed Jessica and Darren’s wedding in Central New Jersey. I gotta tell you they picked two great locations for the ceremony and reception.First the ceremony at St. Aloysius Church in Jackson New Jersey. It has huge windows which gave us some great natural light the whole ceremony. Since they decided they wanted to do family photos indoors all that extra light was also helpful for some naturally lit group photographs.

The reception location was at the recently renovated Lakeside Manor in Hazlet which is on Rt. 36 on the way to Sandy Hook and the Highlands area. From the outside on the road the Lakeside Manor doesn’t catch much of your attention but once inside it looks sparkling new. Lots of White, lots of Marble and just generally fresh and new looking.

One aspect I loved about it from a photography standpoint was that their ceiling in the ballroom was draped in white cloth, which is perfect for my style of shooting. It was like having a beautiful gigantic studio soft box to light every photo I took.

That was my first time at the Lakeside Manor and I hope to return more often! The party itself was great with lots of great moments and emotions. I Thanks Jessica, Darren and their family and friends for a great day and night. Here is a small preview.

After a very busy Fall wedding season that included a powerful storm and power outage for a few days, I’m updating the blog with some photographs from a few of the recent weddings that I hadn’t had a chance of posting on the site.

Among some of the venues I photographed weddings at this fall were Maritime Parc in Jersey City, The Hilton at Short Hills, The Park Ridge Marriot, The Trenton Country Club, The Crystal Ballroom in Freehold, The Manor in West Orange, Nassau Inn in Princeton and a few others.

I still have a couple more weddings this Month and in the meantime 2013 bookings are starting to fill in. If you are still looking for a photographer, fill out the little form to the right and I will let you know if your date is still open.

Just wanted to express my sadness with what has occurred especially here in the State of New Jersey and in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. Many of the affected areas are close to my heart. Family, friends, past and present brides and grooms many of which live and work in the area. I hope everyone is doing well. It’s devastating to see the Jersey Shore get hit so hard. I work there all the time, so many couples get married down there,  especially in towns like Spring Lake, Sea Bright, Long Branch and quite a few others. There are so many great venues at the shore and I hope they all managed to escape damage. Many of my clients also live in and around Hoboken and its sad to see part of that city under water.

In addition to the storm and going 4 days without power, I had a rare 3 wedding weekend ahead of me. One each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My power came back the day before the first wedding. I was in Bayonne, Jersey City, Paterson (Brownstone), Garwood, West Orange (The Manor), New Brunswick and Princeton (Nassau Inn)…all while watching the gas tank level. Luckily I filled up the day after the storm (with no lines) and that lasted me all weekend. In the end all the weddings and celebrations were a success. I must admit, by Monday I needed a well deserved rest!  These photographs are from Friday’s wedding. Above is Kelly the Bride at her house before the ceremony. There was no power at her home nor at the Church but that didn’t stop us. Lots of things were happening around us, but in the instant of the photo above we had a second where Kelly was able to relax and take it in a bit. Luckily, The Brownstone in Paterson where the reception was held did have power. Here are a few highlights from the first of three weddings I photographed the weekend of Hurricane Sandy.

Even though there was no power and the church was rather dark I was able to photograph the ceremony normally and even make it seem like the church was well lit.
